Printbadix (built-in editor)

-Printbadix is the built-in text editor in Alybadix chess problem solving program (AP.EXE).
-Two parallel editors, the first for max 100 kB and the second for max 100 MB texts (if enough RAM).
-Alybadix chess diagrams, piece figurines and solutions can be easily inserted in the editor for editing and printing.
-Supports special effects (bold, italic, underlining) and 1-4 column printing.
-Several different font sets available. In addition about 400 special postscript characters.
-Direct printing support for matrix printers and postscript (laser) printers.
-Plain texts with Alybadix solutions (without special effects and diagrams) can be saved on disk in standard
text format. These text files can be imported to other word processors.
-Possibility to save texts and diagrams in postscript format (.PS extension) on disk.

-With help of GSview and Ghostcript utility programs (on Aly-CD) you can view and print
postscript files on any  non-postscript printer (inkjet, laser), which works under Windows.

1. Postscript and bit-mapped pictures

Generally used graphics formats as BMP, GIF, JPG and TIF are bit-mapped formats.
Printbadix can save documents (texts and pictures) as postscript formatted (PS extension in filenames).
The great advantage of the vector-based postcript printing is the fact that one can scale the document to
a bigger size without missing in accuracy unlike in bit-mapped printing!

Postscript picture                                            Same picture scaled to
created by Printbadix                                                    4 x size

Bit-mapped picture                                             Same picture scaled to
created by Figbadix                                                         2 x size

2. Example 1 of Printbadix document

The document below was edited with help of Printbadix. The diagram and Alybadix solution
for the sh#27 problem was inserted in the text. Piece figurines used in the solution instead of letters.
Printing on 3 columns. GSview previews the page as seen below (used resolution 120 dots/inch).
When printed on a paper the result is more accurate (300 dots/inch).
